How secure are smart locks?

Smart locks are reliable security devices, but only if you use them correctly. The same way a a key hidden under a doormat a few feet from its door lock isn't very secure, a smart lock with the PIN 1-2-3-4 won't be very secure either. Smart locks can even be more secure than conventional locks, since keys are commonly lost as opposed to using your fingerprints, for example, if you're using a fingerprint lock.

Why are smart locks expensive?

Like most smart home tech products, smart locks are getting more affordable over time, but that doesn't mean they're cheap. The technology is constantly evolving, and between the conventional hardware, which often includes a deadbolt or mortise, the "smart" hardware and the software are still costly to manufacture to ensure encryption and security. Are smart locks risky?

Smart lock hacking isn't much of a risk to your individual home's security thanks to encryption, but that doesn't mean smart locks pose zero risks. Battery-powered smart locks still require attentiveness. Prodillo locks offer low battery warnings for charging or replacement. Smart home hacking is very unlikely, but you can mitigate risk by setting strong passwords within the apps that control your smart home, and by using security-minded features like two-factor authentication.

Is it hard to install a smart lock?

Typically smart locks only take a screwdriver and some basic skills, you won’t have to worry about calling a locksmith, unless things go badly wrong. Even deadbolt replacements are doable if you can find out how to disassemble your current deadbolt and measure very carefully. Our products provide in-depth instructions to show you how to get the job done. Expect the assembly to take around an hour if it’s your first time setting up a smart lock.

What is my tracking number?

This is how you will be able to track your order. Your tracking number is sent to you via email and will be available 2-3 days after your order is placed. Please reach out if you haven’t received your tracking number within 5 days after placing your order by contacting us.

I've lost my tracking number. What can I do?

Simply contact us at support@prodillo.com with your full name and order number, and we will resend your tracking number.

How can I make changes to my order?

If you need to make changes to your order you will need to contact us within 12 hours of placing the order.

How can I cancel my order?

If you have second thoughts about your order, you must contact us within 12 hours. We cannot cancel your order once it has already been shipped.
